I figured it would be difficult to find alcohol for consumption at home. Well, a friend showed me a store in the area. Now this is not what we would consider a store in the way we think. This place was on the backside of a mall and did not have a sign. It actually looked like a small receiving area for the grocery store on the front side of the mall. The selection of spirits was relatively basic and the prices were not bad but in some cases the pricing was great. Their selection of wines in distribution was poor. Since I really don't drink spirits any more, it seemed to be a wise choice to simply pick up a few beers to try at my leisure. In the store, the only patrons other than myself were Indian people. There was one cashier and I stepped into a line which was about eight deep. The cashier actually asked me if I wanted to go to the front of the line and was surprised when I politely declined. He insisted but I told him it was okay and I would wait. It only took a few minutes and I felt better about the situation by waiting my turn. The money of the others was just as good as mine but it is a possible indication of other things I may experience here as the perceived classes are treated different in this society.
